Carleton University This study examines the differential relationship of criminogenic domains to violent and nonviolent recidivism in a sample of predominantly violent offenders. In addition, the criminogenic domains are examined through a static-stable variable dichotomy. The results support previously published retrospective studies that found different domains associated with violent and nonviolent offending. In addition, the results showed that stable variables add to the prediction of both violent and nonviolent behavior after accounting for the most salient static variables. The results are discussed within the context of improving risk prediction.
